RiseUP hopes to expand to offering Workshops and Camps to complement the 1-on-1 program and help youth with barriers build community with other like-minded individuals.
We officially ran our first Employment Readiness Camp during Spring Break of 2026, offering workshops in:
- Resume/Cover Letter Building
- Getting ahead in the job search/Customized Employment
- Job Interviews and how to prepare
- Networking and approaching businesses
In addition, we were able to offer First Aid and FoodSafe training to participants at no charge to themselves, thanks to the Government of Canada through Public Safety Canada’s Crime Prevention Action Fund, and the City of Victoria through its Spark Program for Enhanced Youth Safety and Wellbeing.
